Move Your Money

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. If you have an account at Chase, Citrgroup, or any other mega bank, consider going to a local bank.

We don't have a lot of local bankers, by their list, here in Vegas. But we are switching our stuff to a local Nevada Credit Union I think.

Mine is in a small, local credit union. I have never, ever trusted the big banks.

Thanks for the comments, Guys. I have two accounts, both at regional banks. Unfortunately, Chase has bought my mortgage and I must send them a monthly payment. They tried to bribe me with $100 to move my checking account over there and I told them to take a hike!

I don't necessarily disagree with the video. But it portrays only 50% of the issue.

First, the 1977 CRA didn't do ANYone any favors. And it takes two to tango; I know of many borrowers who had visions of not only making a killing with their house but also in terms of using it as a cash generator.

Well BZ, it is only 4 min. long. I'm more angry with them for paying themselves huge bonuses with OUR MONEY after THEY caused the economy to nearly implode. Are they the only reason for the downturn? No. But to be so arrogant and lobby Congress with their depositor's money, well, let's just say that I don't want my cash to go towards that or their bonuses.

That's as bad as government agencies that lobby the government with taxpayer money.

And people wonder why my wife and I have always kept our accounts at local credit unions.
