Pure Michigan

Labor day weekend spent at home enjoying the sights and sounds of the lake that I live on. Swans ducks and Canada geese were all in attendance as my wife Chris, son Derek and I relaxed and enjoyed the evening with our two dogs Bert (big stupid one) and Chet (serial carpet peeing, barks then runs and hides, infinitely irritating and all around pain in the butt).
Casting off from the backyard

Out on the Lake

Chris and " little Chettie"
Some ducks
Bert spys some swans with their half grown youngsters
They are irritated by our boat, and the fact that we have no food
Chester tries not to wet himself as we approach the swans
As we head home, the sun sets.

Nice day. I'm definitely ready for autumn.

Our locals tried to "import" swans to our local waters, but they seemed to prefer to be elsewhere.

We do have lots of Canadian Geese.

While your side of Lake Michigan is nice it still doesn't quite make it to the level of Door County...

But a close second to perfection is better than nothing...

Enjoy

Actually, I have been all over Wisconsin. It is pretty much identical to Michigan. This is just my little lake in the backyard. Certainly no tourist destination, but better than just another cookie cutter suburb. Thank you for stopping by.

Check out Traverse City and the wineries and orchards, along with the sleeping bear dunes.

I grew up in Door County and I would love to go back...but the tourists own the place now...

I just might have to settle for the other side of Lake Michigan...

After 20 years in Kentucky I can tell you that nothing is a gorgeous as the land around Lake Michigan...the stars, the sunsets..

Enjoy!

Yeah, Kentucky is sort of boring if you are not into horses. No skiing would kill me.
