Did You Know; Shift Happens - Globalization; Information Age

This was presented last night at my daugter's High School Honors Awards Ceremony. It is an exciting time that we live in!

As a writer I found that kind of depressing (except the part about there being 3x as many words today as in Shakespeare's time).

It's also kind of biblical, as in Ecclesiates "There is nothing new under the sun" and Daniel's "in the time of the end, many do go to and fro, and knowledge is multiplied."

I've always fancied that our race will end when we've learned everything there is to know and the Big Dude says "hasta la vista" and heads a bit further out to start another multi-million year project.

I'm excited by the new possibilities and the opportunity for future travel and learning. I'm constantly seeking new input and experiences and am happy that my children are living in a time of great positive change.

Well I guess if you're going to be all positive and shit about it! ;)

Don't get me wrong, I'm still an incurable idealist, it's just that the burden of things in this world trying to "cure" idealism is a bit heavy sometimes.
