I found this drawing, from about 1977 (I think), in my garage. It is too large to submit the whole thing. I am too busy for a new drawing so I submit this as my Illustration Friday drawing of the week.
CSC-Unfortunately, most of my stuff from then was destroyed in a flood. That was the only one that I could salvage. I guess I'll just have to draw more!
You have more patience than I do. I have been told I have the talent but I do not have the attention span and patience to actually draw complex drawings. I kind of envy your discipline.
SR- No disipline involved, it just flows off the fingers. I do sometimes throw away several preliminary sketches before I capture the image in rough form. Occasionally, I'll screw up a drawing while applying the ink (Inking, in comics parlance). Keep trying on your artwork! Stop immediately if you feel that you are forcing it because then it is no longer fun, and that (to me) is what drawing is all about!
Hey, Tim, Asshead is back - Your buddy from the Belgian Congo! He left a couple choice comments including one at my "Do You K now This Woman" post. ;o)>
I'm 49 and married with children (look out Al Bundy)went to college and got a degree, have been fixing electromechanical computer controlled machines for over 25 years (currently in healthcare). To do my job I travel the midwest (OH, MI,NY,PA,MN,WI,) south (NC,SC,TN,LA), and west (AZ,CO,WY,ND). In the 80's lived in NYC while in the US Coast Guard, traveled thru Europe, got married. I had kids in the 90's and went back to school until I got my degree in 2000. Last 9 years things have really come together for me professionally. I have lots of good things in my life, but lingering regrets over paths not taken.Seem to be kind of like a shark, if I quit swimming, I stop breathing. There's always something out there... and I can't stop looking until I find IT (whatever IT is).

Great style!
I agree, the style is reminiscent of the comics of the 30's... early Batman, Spectre, that sort of thing.
I have to admit, though, that the first thing I thought of was "Al Cabong!!!!!"
Penelope; IT IS!
Marci-thanks
Joe-Here I am almost thirty years later trying to master the ink and brush technique. Talk about a slow learner!
Woo! That's a fun piece! Do you have more stuff from 1977?

Hong Fu here agains
Many thinks I feel when look at drewling of hat man. Is anger? Is daring? Not of fear, more cunning and fight. Make for excite Hong Fu.
Regard less is handsom man. VERY handsom. Stuning even. Make Hong Fu loins stir. And not gay even!
Wonder what is under picture? Is tight buttock clenching in anger? Or fear? Is muscles in legs clench like snake of about strike?
This draw of man is same as see with eyes poetry. Glad post to interwebs and make same.
Hong Fu
